Colorado Secondary Summit

Picture
At the 2017 Colorado Association of Gifted and Talented - roughly 65 educators gathered together to begin the discussion around the needs of Secondary Gifted and Talented students.
In 2018 - secondary gifted educators from around the Front Range area met 5 times in various locations around the Front Range. We discussed the unique needs of secondary gifted students and how we could collectively advocate for these students.  We also had a variety of guest speakers whom gave overviews of their programs and products that could potential help GT secondary students.  Mostly, we learned from each other and figured out how to make some adaptations to our various programs based upon what we learned that other schools / districts are doing for the GT students.
One of the most exciting things to develop out of the GT2 gatherings is the Colorado Gifted and Talented Student Board.  A multi-district group of students who are advocating for themselves and their peers in a variety of ways and at various educational conferences.
In 2019 - GT2 decided to develop a small GT conference for secondary students.  It will be help on Saturday, April 25, 2020.  Look for more information to come out soon.
